Welcome to the Illinois Association for the Education of Young Children 

Known by many as Illinois AEYC, the organization is Illinois' largest early childhood professional organization with over 4300 members. Since 1969, the organization's volunteer members have successfully dedicated their time and efforts to improving the education and lives of young children in their own communities and throughout the state . To that end, Illinois AEYC's members:

• Come from all aspects of early care and education representing diverse roles and points of view

• Advocate on behalf of young children, their families, and the early childhood programs dedicated to serving them, helping build public support and policies that promote access and excellence in early childhood education

• Provide important leadership to the field, helping to build the foundation for a bright future for Illinois' children

• Strengthen and build the early childhood profession by providing and participating in ongoing education and professional development designed to increase knowledge, improve skills, and promote high quality experiences for young children in a variety of different settings

• Partner with other individuals organizations, businesses and agencies to share resources, and educate the public and community leaders about the importance of high quality programs for children ages birth through age eight
